  The installer is Agama and configuration is handled by either the
  Settings widget in the GUI desktop or using the Cockpit
  web application.

* SLES 16.0 no longer offers the XEN Hypervisor, only KVM
  virtualization is provided and supported.

== SLES 16.0 DOCUMENTATION                       ==
===================================================

Please be aware of and familiar with the current SLES 16.0 Release
Notes. Refer to the product documentation as needed to familiarize
yourself with the new products. Please also be aware that product
documentation is under constant development.

===================================================
== SCK 10.0 DOCUMENTATION                        ==
===================================================

IMPORTANT: Following the SCK documentation (and this README) are
           mandatory due to changes in the SCK setup and
           configuration automation; SUT setup and configuration with
           the TestConsole project requires following each procedural
           step (some are manual).

Please refer to the most recent YES System Certification Kit (SCK)
documentation, download here:
http://sdk.suse.com/ndk/systest/builds/current/Current_SCK_doc.zip

These procedural documents include SLES 16.0 and SL Micro 6.2
instructions. We will continue to update the documentation
periodically, so please watch for updates.

If manually installing SLES 16.0, please pay particular attention to
the new section 4.3 "Manually Installing SLES 16.0 on SUT" in the
"Server Extended" document. This included manually installing from:
PXE, BMC/virtual media or USB device. A manual SLES installation
requires additional command line configuration steps.

The "KVM Certification" document has been split into a SLES 15 SP7/SP6
and SLES 16.0 version depending on what OS the KVM Host (SUT) is
running. For SLES 16.0 KVM certification testing, please refer to this
new document.

A new "GPU Compute Test" document has been added that details advanced
testing scenarios and troubleshooting help.

When certifying a SLES 16.0 system with multiple (2+) storage drives
(non-RAID), the SLES 16.0 install will only install on the boot drive.
You will be required to manually configure a partition and mount on the
additional drive(s). For example, create partition "fdisk /dev/nvme1n1"
then create a file system "mkfs.xfs -f /dev/nvme1n1p1" then mount
"mount /dev/nvme1n1p1 /mnt/nvme1/".

== KNOWN ISSUES                                  ==
===================================================

---------------------------------------------------
Server, Workstation & Laptop Projects
---------------------------------------------------

* Video Test

A new video test was created for SLES 16.0 to support the transition
from the X11 display server to Wayland. The new test requires minimal
user interaction. Unlike the previous version, which required multiple
inputs, you now only need to log into the system, when the login screen
appears, just after the test begins. The test will then run
automatically to completion. If you do not login within a timeout
period, the test will fail.

* Kdump Test

SLES 16.0 adds a new service, kdump-commandline.service. Its purpose is
to automatically update the kernel command line in the bootloader with
default values generated by the kdumptool calibrate command. If the
default crashkernel values are not suitable for your System Under Test
(SUT), you must override them. To do this, first edit the
/etc/sysconfig/kdump file to add the correct values, and then run
kdumptool commandline to update the bootloader. For a full guide on
these changes, refer to the Troubleshooting and Help SCK documentation,
section 2.12.

* USB Test

On some systems the USB Test may require manual mounting of the USB
devices if they are not automatically mounted. Once you connect your USB
devices, check whether they are mounted by using the "mount" or "lsblk"
command in a terminal. If the USB test fails very quickly after starting
the stress tests, you may want to check whether the USB devices have
been mounted (or possibly mounted multiple times), correct the problem
and restart the USB test again. Also, do not include spaces in a USB
mount point name.

* CPU Frequency test

Some processors fail or run too long when running the CPU Frequency
test. Please review the CPU Frequency test logs for debugging data. You
may also want to review the Firmware BIOS test logs for debugging
information. Then, if necessary contact your Partner Engineer if you
have undetermined CPU Frequency test failures.

* GPU Compute test

If you have an older model NVIDIA GPU that is no longer supported by
CUDA Toolkit version 13.0.0, you will need to override the CUDA Toolkit
version that the GPU Compute test installs. Please refer to the new GPU
Compute Test document included in the SCK documentation.

* WiFi NIC Verify

When testing a SLES 16.0 system that includes a WiFi network adapter,
the NIC Verify test may report PASS w/Warning. The Partner Engineer
reviewing your submission will need to review.

---------------------------------------------------
Virtualization (KVM) Projects
---------------------------------------------------

Using SLES 16.0 as a KVM virtualization host requires some changes to
SCK tests and documentation. Please read and familiarize yourself with
the KVM Certification for SLES 16.0 documentation. This will assist you
with changes made to the testing and mandatory guest configuration
changes if you're doing any manual setup of SLES 16.0 guest VMs.

* Listing of Guest VMs Tested

Beginning with SLES 16.0 KVM we will no longer list the vm_arch (64) or
vm_modetype (paravirtualized/fully virtualized) with the VMs listed
on the submission. When submitting SLES 16.0 KVM certification results
to SBS these these SHOULD be removed (Cleared). The Virtual Machines
(Guest OS): section of a SLES 16.0 KVM bulletin will be as shown below
like (listing only the VMs you certified):

Virtual Machine (Guest OS):

SUSE(R) Linux Enterprise Server 16.0 for AMD64 & Intel64
SUSE(R) Linux Enterprise Server 15 for AMD64 & Intel64
     SP: Service Pack 7 for SUSE SLES 15
Windows Server 2025

Note: do not remove the VM OS or SP data.

* Default DHCP addresses on a SLES 16.0 KVM VM fail to change during
  kit install

If the documentation is followed this problem will not occur. But, if
VM's are installed and the default DHCP address is not changed in the
VM to a static IP address, the kit install will not change them. If the
documentation is followed, this problem will not occur.
